San Francisco: Cheap Hotels

Just because San Francisco is such a fine city, doesn’t mean that you should
pay an arm and a leg for accommodation. Here are some affordable hotels
to stay located throughout San Francisco's downtown.

Our Choice
: The Park Hotel (325 Sutter Street)

The
Park Hotel is located around the corner from Union Square in the heart of San
Francisco. It is about the cheapest at $49.50 a night. It is located near a lot of the
transportation facilities, so you can have access to all the appropriate destinations. It
is also located near some interesting art galleries. The rooms are pretty stylish, and
there is complimentary wi-fi (in the lobby only).

Also Notable: The Mosser Hotel (54 Fourth Street)

The
Mosser Hotel is designed with a Victorian flair, and it’s pretty posh,
considering the average $61.00 per night price. It also has a good location between
Union Square and Moscone Center. Amenities include custom-designed furniture,
Internet access, ceiling fan, and even bathrobes. You’ll probably need the bathrobe,
because some rooms have a shared bathroom.
An extra bonus: This is the only
hotel in San Francisco with a state-of-the-art recording studio, Studio Paradiso. It's
available to tour for music fans.

The Grant Hotel (753 Bush Street)

The
Grant Hotel has a great location. Not only is it based on historic Nob Hill, but
it’s only half a block from the cable car. Chinatown, Union Square, as well as other
landmarks and transportation facilities are all within walking distance. It has a
definite late 19th century look to it, and you’ll enjoy a complimentary continental
breakfast, as well as wireless internet access from the lobby. The price to stay a
night runs about $68.00.

SW Hotel (615 Broadway Street)

The
SW Hotel is located in the North Beach area, near Coit Tower. There is a
definite mix of Asian and Californian architecture here, and you will enjoy a lot of
personalized service. At $60.00, it seems worth the deal.
