New York City: Getting There

They don't call it the Big Apple for nothing.  Most major airlines fly into New
York via one of the 3 major airports (JFK, LaGuardia or Newark.)
Southwest
flies into Long Island/Islip and has recently started service to LaGuardia through a
partnership with
ATA Airlines. To find the best price, try the following strategies:

Subscribe to individual airline e-deals to learn of sales by email.

Use a search site like Sidestep , Expedia  or Farecast to compare.

Utilize affiliations like credit card miles, student status or clubs.

Travel agents and packages can still sometimes give you the best deals.

Other ways to get to NYC:

TRAIN:  Amtrak stops in the heart of Manhattan at Penn Station.

BUS:  The main terminal for Greyhound is at the Port Authority (625 8th Ave).  There are also several other limited-service stops in Manhattan.

From Washington DC you can take the
Washington Deluxe for $20.00 or $35.00
round-trip.

If you're in the upstate NY, northern NJ, or eastern PA, check out the Shortline
via
Coach USA.
