Hawaii: Getting There On The Cheap

Most major carriers fly to at least one of the Hawaiian islands.  Even Southwest
has joined the ranks, with flights to Honolulu (Oahu) and Hilo (Big Island) from
select mainland cities.  Other carriers include:
 Aloha, American, Continental, Delta,
Hawaiian, Northwest and United.

There are also inter-island flights if you want to hop around.  Discount fares can
be found, especially when you plan ahead. Try
Go or Aloha airlines as they often
have special deals.
Hawaiian Airlines also serves inter-island routes.  If you'll be in
Hawaii after 2007, check on the new
ferry service that will shuttle passengers and
cars between islands.

Don't want to fly?  Several cruise lines offer service to the islands.  Keep in mind
that most cruises don't allow for much excursion time, so your sightseeing time is
likely to be limited.  It's also generally not the most budget-friendly way to go.
However, if you want to make it part of a larger trip, try
Carnival or Royal
Caribbean for value packages.
