It's a cinch to have a full day of sights in Budapest without spending
very much money. Here's an example of one of our favorite days:

 | Start out on Castle Hill. In addition to the palace, there is St. Matthews | |
| Church, Fisherman's Bastion, a lovely neighborhood to stroll through, and a fabulous view across the Danube. |
| Take the Funicular (about $3.25 USD) down the hill towards the river. | |
| Walk across the Chain Bridge and peek inside the Four Seasons hotel lobby. This building used to be Gresham Palace and still retains many of the architectural details. |
| A few blocks behind Gresham Palace is St. Stephens Cathedral. This is a | |
| must stop and is one of the most beautiful in all of Europe. Have lunch at one of the cafe's in the square (we like Leroy) or have a picnic in the square and people-watch. |
